Implementation Guide (CAD)
Implementation Guide (CAD)
1. End User License Agreement (EULA)
Onboarding ECCs with your RapidSOS Digital Alerts solution requires them to sign our End User License Agreement (EULA).
The EULA can be accessed by an Admin within RapidSOS Portal by following these steps:
- Login to www.rapidsosportal.com
- Click on the menu button in the top-right corner
- Select "Admin"
- Select "Outbound Data"
- Select "Request Credentials"
- In the dropdown menu for "Please select, or start typing, your RapidSOS partner integration solution," select "RapidSOS Alerts"
2. ECC Firewall Configuration
Onboarding ECCs with your RapidSOS Digital Alerts solution may involve modifications to the ECC's firewall configuration. The timeline for modifications to ECC firewalls will vary, so we recommend beginning this process as soon as possible to allow maximum time for questions, scheduling, and execution.
Allow List
The list of URLs for PSAP networks to include on their allow list can be found here.
3. Credentials
Prerequisites
Onboarding ECCs with your RapidSOS Digital Alerts solution requires the ECC to request the credentials that your solution will use to authenticate with RapidSOS APIs. The following are required before credentials can be delivered to an ECC.
- RapidSOS Portal Account
- Approved Jurisdictional Boundary File (JBF)
- End User License Agreement (EULA)
RapidSOS Portal Sign Up
RapidSOS Credentials are managed through the administrative module in RapidSOS Portal. Prior to receiving approved credentials for an integration, 911 Agencies, PSAPs, and ECCs must have a RapidSOS Portal account with an approved Jurisdiction Boundary File (JBF).
ECCs that do not have a RapidSOS portal account can sign up at rapidsosportal.com and select ADMIN SIGN UP.
Submitting a Jurisdictional Boundary File
Once a RapidSOS Portal account is created, an admin user can log in at rapidsosportal.com/login and navigate to the menu button in the top right corner and select Admin -> Agency info -> Define and maintain your Jurisdictional details --> Upload Files to upload the agency's JBF.
Once submitted to RapidSOS, it may take 4-6 weeks for an agency's JBF to be approved by upstream partners. Don't hesitate to reach out to support@rapidsos.com if there are any issues with the sign-up or JBF upload processes.
Requesting Credentials
After JBF upload is complete, an Admin user at the ECC can request new credentials by navigating to the Menu, ADMIN -> Outbound Data and selecting the Request Credentials button.
After the EULA is completed, credentials are assigned weekly on Tuesdays. The PSAP and software provider will be notified by the RapidSOS Public Safety Team when the credentials are approved.
After approval, you will receive an email from the Public Safety Team with a test date and activation date for the Alerts integration.
Please be mindful of security best practices for sharing credentials. You should not email, text, or provide them in a video-conferencing chat. You can use a service such as Share A Secret, which allows you to send a one-time message securely to another person.
4. Implementation Testing
If you would like a sandbox account created for development testing, or to coordinate time to test alerts with your solution, please contact support@rapidsos.com.
